The Aberdeen Health Foundation invites the community to gather for its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Summer Street Industries. This year’s meeting carries special significance as the Foundation celebrates 40 years of community support for local health care. Attendees will hear highlights from the past four decades and learn more about the impact donors continue to have on patient care, equipment, programs, and services at the Aberdeen Hospital and across the region.
The Foundation is pleased to welcome Dr. Nicole Boutilier as this year’s guest speaker. A Pictou County native, Dr. Boutilier is currently acting President and CEO and Executive Vice-President of Medicine and Clinical Operations at Nova Scotia Health. She has practiced medicine in rural Nova Scotia for more than 20 years and has held many leadership roles within the provincial health system, including Medical Executive Director for Northern Zone and Vice-President of Medicine. She also co-leads the provincial Office of Healthcare Professional Recruitment.
During the AGM, Dr. Boutilier will speak about the future of health care in Nova Scotia and the role of innovation in strengthening care for patients and families.
“For 40 years, our community has come together to support better health care close to home,” said Heather MacDonald, Board Chair of the Aberdeen Health Foundation. “Innovation is one of the Foundation’s core pillars. From funding new technologies to supporting creative solutions that improve care for patients and families, our donors have helped drive meaningful change in our local health system. As we look ahead, that spirit of innovation will continue to guide the Foundation’s work and the partnerships that make it possible.”
Following the meeting, attendees are invited to stay for a dessert social. Community members are welcome to attend in person or virtually via Zoom. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held online only.
