Students raise money for Oncology Patient Fund
Teachers and students of Trenton Elementary and Middle School recently hosted the second annual “Debbie’s Walk”. The event is a fundraiser in memory of Debbie Campbell, an educational assistant at Trenton Elementary who passed away in January 2015 from cancer. The school reached out to Debbie’s husband John for suggestions on the best way their event could help others in a similar situation. John suggested the Aberdeen Health Foundation’s Oncology Patient Fund, which helps cancer patients with travel expenses throughout their treatment. The students raised $1,500 for the fund this year.
“It’s wonderful to see how these children have come together to remember their teacher and care for others in our community,” says Susan Malcolm of the Aberdeen Health Foundation.
