Pictou County Vital Signs Hosts Sounding Board Meeting

The Pictou County Vital Signs team is hosting a Sounding Board meeting tomorrow, June 19 at NSCC. The purpose is to share what has been learned so far, have a conversation about what’s missing, and identify areas where support is needed for data collection.
The United Way of Pictou County and the Aberdeen Health Foundation are incredibly excited about seeing their investment in this project come to life in the final report that will be launched in October this year.
“The Vital Signs report will be a great resource for Pictou County, highlighting strengths of the community and identifying priority areas for action, all based on evidence collected from reliable data sources,” says Jessica Smith of the United Way. The report can be used by residents, community organizations, businesses, and government leaders to guide action and direct resources where they might have the greatest impact.
The Vital Signs Sounding Board is being hosted on Tuesday, June 19, 6 pm in the Cafeteria of the NSCC Pictou Campus.
“Everyone is welcome and every perspective is important,” says Robyn Eaton of the Aberdeen Health Foundation. “If you’ve lived in Pictou County all your life, or are a newcomer, if you live in a town or more rural area, if you want to listen or to share thoughts about improving the quality of life in Pictou County, we welcome you to attend.”  Come on your own, with a friend, or even better, invite a new neighbour.
Vital Signs is a research project that measures the vitality of a community by gathering data about significant social and economic trends. This initiative is possible through a funding partnership of the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, United Way of Pictou County, and Aberdeen Health Foundation.
