Aberdeen Hospital staff together with the Aberdeen Health Foundation will be hosting Open Hospital Day on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 1 – 3 pm at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow.
This event will give the community a behind the scenes look at many areas of the hospital including the Operating Room, Diagnostic Imaging, Physio Department, Lab, Oncology, and the Women and Children’s Unit.
The tour will highlight the equipment and treatments that have been made possible by the community’s generous support to the Aberdeen Health Foundation, which has provided more than $23 million to enhance health care services and programs right here in Pictou County.
“We’re very thankful that our partner, the Nova Scotia Health Authority, is helping to make Open Hospital Day possible so that our community can get a chance to see their donations at work,” says Hilary Amit, Chair of the Aberdeen Health Foundation.
Brenda Payne, Director of Health Services and Site Lead for NSHA Pictou County, said their team is really looking forward to the day. “Our ability to deliver the health care we want to provide to our community has been assisted by the generous and ongoing support of the Foundation. We are proud to showcase a sample of these resources to the public.”
The tour will begin promptly at 1 pm. Guests are asked to meet in the hospital cafeteria. In honour of the event, parking at the hospital will be free on Sunday afternoon. Join our event on Facebook.
