Inspired by purpose all things are possible

Thank you to Pictou County Glass for placing this Jewell Tree under glass and refurbishing the frame so that it can be available for all to see and enjoy. Because of their kind donation this beautiful creation is now displayed in the main lobby of the Aberdeen Hospital.
In 2008, clients at the Mental Health Short Stay Unit (MHSSU) with the aid of staff, volunteers, and the community created this be-jeweled Christmas tree.
Planning started early for this entry to the annual Aberdeen Hospital Christmas Tree Contest. A call for jewelry donations went out to the community. NSCC Carpentry students built the frame. The velvet was donated by a member of the staff. Hector Hardware and the Aberdeen Health Foundation donated incidentals.
A Christmas tree creation party was planned where clients, staff and volunteers were invited to add pieces to the tree. The winning result tells an important story for all seasons – when inspired by purpose all things are possible.
