Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, now there’s Giving Tuesday. It is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place annually after Black Friday, this year on November 29.
Locally, the Aberdeen Health Foundation is getting involved. A donation to the Foundation is a gift that keeps on giving, year after year. Funds received are invested, with the income earned used to support annual enhancements to health care in Pictou County.

The Aberdeen Health Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary. In that time, thanks to the success of the initial capital campaign and ongoing support from the community, the Foundation has funded more than $20 million in advanced equipment and care for our region.
To mark this milestone, the Foundation is inviting people to take up their #GivingTuesday Challenge by honouring someone they know with a Tribute Gift, a donation in their name.
“Tribute Gifts are a unique giving idea at a time when people are looking for meaningful gifts,” says Susan Malcolm, Executive Director. “If there’s someone on your list that’s passionate about Pictou County and making a difference, this is a great way to honour them.”
The Aberdeen Health Foundation has set a big goal; it hopes 150 people will take up its first Giving Tuesday Challenge. Recipients will receive a note card and 30th Anniversary heart ornament.
Pay Tribute Now to someone you know. Be sure to select “Tribute Gift” when donating via our secure online donation form.
