Mental Wellness and Early Intervention Program now in Pictou County
with funding from Aberdeen Health Foundation

 

FORBOW Principle Investigator, internationally renowned Dr. Rudolf Uher, MD, PhD, Dalhousie University Professor and Canadian Research Chair in Early Intervention in Psychiatry speaks about the results of the FORBOW study so far, and one of the unintended benefits of the program.

 

FORBOW is a research program that has been operating out of Dalhousie University in partnership with Nova Scotia Health for over 10 years. Now, FORBOW is available in Pictou County with space open for up to 100 families. Learn more at FORBOW | Pictou County

FORBOW works with families to prevent the cycle of mental illness through early detection and intervention.

To date over 300 families from across Nova Scotia have participated in this study. Some families have a history of mental illness while other families do not have a history of mental illness.

Enrolment is open to all Nova Scotian families with children aged 9-24, especially those with a family history of mental illness.

A doctor’s referral is not required.
