Projects that support early childhood development, address homelessness, improve accessibility to nutritious food, and encourage healthy lifestyles are a few examples of the types of projects that could qualify for the Aberdeen Health Foundation’s Population Health funding.
Last month, the Aberdeen Health Foundation announced $50,000 in funding to support community-based projects that maintain, protect, and improve the health of the people of Pictou County. The deadline to apply is April 23. The funding opportunity is open to registered charities, registered amateur athletic associations, municipal organizations, and other qualified donees.
Dr. Aaron Smith, Chair of the Aberdeen Health Foundation’s Population Health Committee was recently joined by public health physician Dr. Ryan Sommers to talk about the funding and how it could be used to protect health, prevent disease, and help people live healthier lives.

Information on project eligibility and application forms can be found at aberdeenhealthfoundation.ca/Population-Health-Funding, or by contacting Kim Martin, at (902) 752-7600 x. 4600.
