Strengthening community care through VON in...
Board Member Profile – Heidi Jamieson-Mills

Now back in her hometown of Pictou County since 2014, Heidi is a committed community leader. She has been actively involved in various organizations that support enhancing health care and health outcomes, education, victims of domestic abuse, and adults with developmental disabilities. She has been a Board Member with the Aberdeen Health Foundation since 2017 and currently serves as Treasurer.
When asked what she is most proud of during her time with the Foundation, Heidi says, “I was so proud to grow our finance function – strategy, processes, and controls – to the next level. Initiatives such as establishing a finance policy, moving to an accounting software platform, and having a strategic and operationally led planning and budget process were meaningful accomplishments. It has been rewarding to stand up these fundamentals, allowing the focus of the Treasurer role to shift to ensure the Foundation has the financial capacity to support improving the health outcomes of our community for decades to come!”
