Growing Pink Pumpkins for Cancer Patient Support

The pumpkin patch at McLean’s farm began as a way for their son to raise money for university. It has continued as a tradition the McLean family now uses to support local charities. This past year they grew pink pumpkins for cancer research but wanted to make an impact close to home. They reached out to a friend, a retired nurse, who told them about the Aberdeen Health Foundation’s Oncology Client Fund, which helps cancer patients in Pictou County who have to travel for treatment with their travel costs.
