Executive Director Aberdeen Health Foundation
The Aberdeen Health Foundation was established in 1986 to support the Aberdeen Regional Hospital’s fundamental mission to provide quality health care to the people of Pictou County. The Foundation has done so by providing continuing and coordinated financial support, helping the hospital to adapt its operations, programs, equipment, and services to ever-changing technologies and improved standards of care. To date, the Aberdeen Health Foundation has funded a remarkable $23 million in capital and service improvements. The Aberdeen Health Foundation relies on community support and the generosity of individuals to fund medical equipment and patient care technology, innovative treatment methods, modern facilities, professional development and support for health care professionals, and community health projects. The Aberdeen Health Foundation is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors who provide direction and oversight to the Foundation’s activities and its mandate of enhancing health care in Pictou County.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the operation of the Aberdeen Health Foundation and will provide day to day leadership, direction and guidance of the Foundation’s activities and programs to meet the goals and objectives of the organization. The Executive Director represents the Foundation to all stakeholders including regulatory bodies, government, donors, hospital and community health staff, and community groups/organizations. The Executive Director will ensure the efficient use of resources to achieve the vision, mission and objectives of the Foundation.
