Aberdeen Health Foundation
We Respect Your Privacy
The Aberdeen Health Foundation provides financial support to the Aberdeen Hospital by funding the purchase of equipment or special projects that maintain, promote, expand and develop patient care or medical education for employees and staff at the Aberdeen Hospital. The Foundation Board, the Trustees of the Trust and the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital are committed to protecting the privacy of all our donors and potential supporters.
How Do We Acquire Your Information

You may provide your email address to us by subscribing to our RSS feed (“Really Simple Syndication”). The RSS feed will deliver news and updates from the Aberdeen Health Foundation to your email account. You may unsubscribe at any time.
The information you provide becomes part of our database and files system. We are responsible for the personal information about you that we collect. To ensure accountability, we have developed this policy and trained our personnel about our practices and procedures.
The Aberdeen Health Foundation does not have access to patient records and medical information within the Aberdeen Hospital or any part of the Pictou County Health Authority.
How Do We Use Your Information
The information you share with us is collected for the following purposes:
- To provide you with information about the Aberdeen Health Foundation and its activities;
- To provide you with appropriate recognition;
- To comply with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines; and
- To provide you with further opportunities to support the Aberdeen Health Foundation.
The Aberdeen Health Foundation does not sell, lease, trade or share your information with anyone. Only generalized statistics may be shared or reported. Personal information about our donors is stored in a password protected database and manual filing system within the confines of our offices. All staff members sign a confidentiality agreement as part of their employment contract.
Recognizing Your Donations
The Aberdeen Health Foundation publishes a report to inform the public and our donors of their gifts at work and to show accountability by disclosing our audited financial statements. However, the publication does not specifically name donors who have made gifts. We also recognize certain donors by putting their names on special walls at various locations within the Aberdeen Hospital. The Donor Wall recognizes donors by name in relation to specific donation category levels.
All donors are provided with the opportunity to keep their contributions to the Aberdeen Health Foundation anonymous.
