Family Day at New Hope was a huge success with about 60 people in attendance to learn more about the programs their loved ones are participating in and to see all they are accomplishing. Everything from photography and art to gardening was showcased and how these programs are used to bolster mental health. Guests were treated to homemade refreshments prepared by participants in the nutrition program and a presentation by the drama club.
New Hope is a community-based, psycho-social rehabilitation program for persons living with mental illness. “We always work to integrate family into care because the health outcomes for our clients are better,” says Terri Cameron, RN. “The event itself is so much more than sharing what’s happening, it’s about the sense of pride and accomplishment that clients experience when they are a part of it.”
